Our Mission

Our mission is to rescue as many of the cats that roam the areas around Temple University as possible. We will place all adoptable cats, and find a humane solution for caring for any feral cats.

Current goals:

  • Get people interested in organizing, fundraising, trapping, and fostering.
  • Get a better idea of how many cats there are in the entire area
  • Figure out how we can use this as an opportunity for spay and neuter education!

Beautiful, fluffy Aphrodite was adopted from the NE Petco and is having a wonderful time with her new mom.

Cute little Odessa (now Skittles) was a nasty, feral little kitten when we found her, but she warmed up quickly and was adopted from OutFest in the fall of 2010. She is now growing into an elegant young lady of a cat!

In an effort to bring you more constant cuteness, we’ve set up a kitten cam for one of our current foster kittens – we hope to continue streaming adorable adoptables live as often as we can!

Temple Cats will be attending the festival at the 3rd Annual Walk for Animals, sponsored by PAWS and The Humane League of Philadelphia. From 11AM – 1PM, we’ll be at the Ethical Society Building (1906 S. Rittenhouse Square), with some adoptable cats and info on how you can help, so come by and say hello! Also, we still need some volunteers and transport for this event (specifically, we need a folding table – someone has offered to lend us one, but we need to pick it up.) If you are free on Saturday and would like to help out at the event or with transporting cats/supplies to/from the event, please let us know!

5-14-11 & 5-15-11 from 11-3pm PETCO NE at Grant and the BLVD, will be having adoption days. We will bring all the kitties out and you can meet them all as well as three Temple Cats Lundy, Cassie & Aurelia. So come on out and find a new furbaby.  Temple Cat Volunteer as well as PAWS NE Volunteer Tara, will be there this Saturday from 11-3 to answer any specific questions about all our cats.

Aurelia, along with Cassie and Lundy, is at PETCO at Grant and the Roosevelt Blvd (Rt 1). She is a sweetie pie, loves to snuggle and sit your lap and lap up all the attention she deserves. She would be a great cat for someone who loves to have a chat with their cat at the end of the day. So far she does not seem to like dogs and we are not sure who she will handle cats but she loves humans. Come by the store and see her.

Cassie and Lundy are now at PETCO at Grant and Blvd up in Northeast Philadelphia. Come up and see them and I assure you will fall in love and want them  in your home.  Cassie is a retired mama cat and all her babies were adopted last year and now she is looking for her quiet forever home for some peace and quiet. Lundy is a lovebug all decked out in his tuxedo ready to go and be a loving companion in your home. Both cats are 1-2 years old.

Did you know? I am at Fairmount Pet Shoppe looking to meet and greet and hopefully find my furever home and family. Fairmount Pet Shoppe is at the corner of Corinthian Avenue and Fairmount Avenue in the Art Museum area. While I love the terrific ladies at this store, I really can’t wait to find my furever home. Please stop on by and give me a nice head scratch.  Update 3-30-11 – Lancelot has a pending adoption.

After spending 110 days at PETCO, Temple Cat, Artemis, now Abbey has gone to her furever home. She will enjoy long days napping and playing with her new    Mommy, Daddy and her 8 and 12 year old human siblings. She was a much loved Temple Cat amongst our PETCO/PAWS volunteers and we are all going to miss her especially this lady posting. Good luck Arty
